Feehan Coach Bryan Pinabell Retiring after 34 Year Run

Bishop Feehan High School head football coach Bryan Pinabell has formally announced his upcoming retirement from coaching, making official what had been a lightly-guarded secret on the school’s Attleboro campus for weeks. His Feehan football coaching career will end at the conclusion of this season.

After 34 years at the helm of five different programs in three different states, Coach Pinabell leaves a legacy of on-field success and – more importantly to him – lifetime relationships with players who learned the enduring values of respect, hard work and teamwork under his tutelage.

Pinabell’s Feehan coaching career is a story of continuing a legacy of success at the school and growing the program to new heights. Under his direction, Feehan transitioned from Division 3 to Division 2 and systematically met the challenges of this new level of competition, making two appearances in the state Elite Eight, one in the Final Four and last year, a memorable run to Gillette Stadium and the Super Bowl.

Coach Pinabell concludes his coaching career with an overall record of 136-65, coaching at Our Lady of Mercy in Fayetteville, GA, St. Pius X in Atlanta, GA, Immaculate High School in Danbury, CT, Malden Catholic in Malden, MA and finally at Bishop Feehan, where he accumulated 53 wins and 25 losses. Jumping to Feehan from Malden Catholic in the summer of 2019, Pinabell immediately embraced the Feehan Shamrock Pride culture. Feehan grads can be found on the rosters of notable college programs across New England and well beyond. No mention of Coach Pinabell’s Feehan path would be complete without also celebrating the role of his wife Katie, the quiet behind-the-scenes MVP of Feehan football culture for nearly a decade.

“Coach Pinabell has left an indelible mark on our school and on every young man who has worn the Shamrock uniform for him,” said Christian Schatz, Bishop Feehan’s athletic director. “His dedication, integrity, and passion for the game have elevated our program, and we are deeply grateful for everything he has given to Bishop Feehan.” Coach Pinabell will remain at Bishop Feehan as a member of the social studies and athletic departments.

The entire Bishop Feehan community thanks Coach Pinabell for his years of service and leadership and wishes him all the best in his well-earned coaching retirement. Feehan will open a search for Pinabell’s successor in coming weeks.
