  • Email the correct coach. While the head coach is important, emailing an assistant or making sure that you are emailing the director of recruitment is more important.
  • Overall, keep your email brief, to the point, factual, and legitimate.

    • Introduction
      • Address coach & institution by name - personalize
      • Identify interest, fit, and connections to school & program (BFHS alumni, siblings, previous campus tour, college fair, media, etc.)
      • Proofread for accuracy!
    • Highlights & overview of resume, including:
      • Measurables such as height & weight
      • Official individual & team statistics
      • Honors & awards
    • Upcoming competition schedule
      • Bishop Feehan home games
      • Club tournaments & showcases

  • Many teams/institutions will have an interest questionnaire to complete. Fill this out first and, in your email, indicate that you completed the questionnaire. This demonstrates to coaches that you are directly interested in their specific program.
